Welcome to the website of Bassus Ediciones, a publish firm specializing in Spanish repertoire for clarinet and piano of the 19th and early 20th century. Here you will find sheet music, books and recordings of Spanish composers; many of them unpublished until now.
BASSUS AND THE CLARINET
Bassus Ediciones was created with the objective of making available the Spanish repertoire of the 19th and early 20th century for clarinet and piano.
19th century was an era in which the clarinet becomes firmly established in the orchestra and becomes essential in other formations that were developed in this period, the wind band among them. The number of clarinettists grows enormously and also the works devoted to the instrument. In Spain, numerous works were composed for clarinet but very few got into print. Our goal is to bring this repertoire by editing and recording pieces that, in many cases, remained in manuscript form in archives and libraries.
BASSUS AND THE BASS CLARINET
In recent decades bass clarinet has taken an independent path to the clarinet and developed its own technique. An important part of Bassus Ediciones is also dedicated to the bass clarinet, with didactic material and original contemporary Spanish repertoire.
BASSUS AND THE PIANO
Piano was the king of the instruments during the 19th century and, in Spain, thousands of works were composed for it. Ana Benavides has spent years selecting the most interesting pieces and researching the history of the Spanish piano. Result of her labor are editions, recordings and the book 'The piano in Spain' that you can find on our website.
